影片介紹
在去與出版人見面的路上，渴望成爲作家的Sam Wexler（喬什·拉德諾）遇到了Rasheen，一個在地鐵中與家人走失的小黑孩。好心的Sam幫他找到社區服務機構，但是Rasheen卻拒絕呆在那，因爲他已經被6個不同的家庭收養過。沖動之下，Sam決定讓Rasheen和自己同住些日子。
Rasheen走入了Sam混亂的單身生活，包括他古怪的朋友圈。Annie（瑪琳·阿克曼，真難看出這竟然是《守望者》裏的熱辣女郎），一個沒有頭發的自我免疫力失調症患者，永遠找不對約會男人；討論要搬去洛杉矶的情侶Mary-Catherine （佐伊·卡贊）與Charlie（Pablo Schreiber），雖然這一決定必將危險到他們的關系；還有歌手Mississippi（凱特·瑪拉），她考驗著Sam害怕承諾的本性。當Sam與Rasheen的友誼逐步發展，他終於意識到，成年並不是得到你想要什麽生活的正確答案，而是在這個過程中蹒跚向前。
