Scisoft 是一個天文軟件集，也是歐洲南方天文台(ESO)的一個項目計劃，裡面的大部分軟件都是ESO以為的開發，都由ESO集合到這個套件裡。內容有經常使用的數據分析軟件（IRAF/STSDAS, ESO-MIDAS 和 IDL等），還有其它一些小軟件。關於裡面的軟件，除了IDL是商業版協議以外，其他的都是Free的軟件。IDL需要購買許可方可使用，或者你有辦法破解也行，不過還是建議使用正版（購買軟件許可）。
這張光盤是可以在ESO的網站上免費取得的，但是很多人申請後很長時間沒有收到光盤。申請的地址是：http://www.eso.org/science/scisoft/order_form.html
但是這個軟件集米有WINDOWS版本的，只有Linux、Solaris、HP-UX、Mac OS X，沒有辦法，大部分天文台都是用的自己開發的系統進行處理，目前比較多的就是LINUX了，呵呵……
整個套件是一張光盤，內容是一個壓縮包，大約500多M，但是解壓之後可以達到2G多。目前該套件只支持Unix類操作系統和Mac OS，主要是支持Linux。目前最新版是V5，發布於2003年12月，支持RedHat 9及以後版本。

由於軟件包內容豐富，體積龐大，因此建議專門分一個/Scisift分區安裝這些文件，分區大小應該不小於3G。安裝過程可以參考光盤的INSTALL文件。
