MSC Dytran 是MSC.Software 公司的核心產品之一, 專門適用於高速瞬態非線性動力問題, 瞬態流固耦合問題的數值仿真。
從1988年開始, MSC 在結構瞬態動力響應軟件DYNA3D框架下開發了MSC Dyna並於1990年發布了第一個版本。該程序繼承了DYNA3D優異的快速顯式積分算法和豐富的材料模式, 采用MSC.Nastran的輸入數據格式, 可用於分析各種非線性瞬態響應, 如高速撞擊、 接觸摩擦、沖壓成型等。
1993年MSC發布了MSC Dytran的第一個商業版本。該產品集MSC.Dyna和MSC.PISCES 3D之大成, 拉格朗日和歐拉算法優勢互補, 成為第一個能夠模擬復雜流固耦合問題、高度非線性、瞬態動力響應的大型商用軟件，適合於模擬國防軍工領域常見的爆炸、穿甲等流固耦合問題, 在國防、 航空航天、核安全、石化等領域有廣泛應用。在隨後的發展中, MSC Dytran在單元庫、 數據結構、 前後處理等方面與MSC的旗艦產品MSC Nastran趨於一致。
在問世的十余年中, MSC Dytran歷經無數航空、 航天、 汽車、造船、鐵路、國防、核工業等領域科研和工程項目考驗。該軟件的開發環境經過ISO認證, 每天都要通過500個以上例題的自動測試以保證程序的可靠性和穩定性。2003年MSC.Software公司與LSTC公司達成全球戰略合作協議，將LS-DYNA程序完全集成入MSC Dytran。此功能在Windows, UNIX和Linux操作系統上均可方便實現。計算高效，求解穩定。MSC將最強的Lagrange技術與最強的Euler、耦合技術相結合，形成功能最為強大的非線性顯式有限元軟件。
