Autodesk Moldflow Design Link (MDL)是Moldflow產品系列中重要的數據鏈接工具。通過它Moldflow各產品不僅可輕松讀取IGES、STEP、Stereo Lithography(STL)等格式的3D模型，還可直接讀取Parasolid（UG）、Pro/E、I-DEAS、CATIA、Solidworks等高端CAD軟件的最新版本的原檔3D模型，同時對於其它結構分析CAE軟件如Ansys、Patran、Nastran、ABAQUS、LS-DYNA、Hyper-Work等生成的網格模型也可以通過MDL導入到AMI中作進一步分析。另外在MDL6.0以後除了支持數據模型轉換的傳統功能外，還突破性的增加了以下的全新功能，進一步拓展了MDL的應用范圍。
以CAD實體驅動為核心的網格生成方式 – 直接由CAD幾何模型生成Dual Domain或3D實體網格，相對於AMI或AMA的邊界元素網格劃分方法，針對高曲率的產品MDL可獲得更高質量的網格模型，在極大的減少前處理的時間的同時，提高了分析的精度。
多部件（裝配模型）的直接導入和網格的自動劃分 – 支持直接對裝配模型中的多個部件的整體導入，並根據配合關系自動進行Dual Domain或3D網格劃分，極大的保證了裝配模型配合面上網格配合的准確性，大大降低了裝配模型網格處理的難度，極大的提高了嵌入成型、雙色成型及型芯偏移分析等耦合分析的求解精度。
直接劃分3D實體網格 – 以前的處理方式需要先劃分出dual domino網格，然後再劃分出3D實體網格，在MDL6.0下可以直接劃分出3D網格，且保證網格質量符合要求。這極大的提高了3D網格處理的效率。
狹長特征的去除 – 狹長的細小特征會導致網格模型出現很多的縱橫比超標的單元，增加分析前處理時間，通過MDL對狹長特征的去處，可顯著的提高網格質量。
