　　《王權：幻想王國》的游戲性既新奇有獨特，這一因素也使得游戲的整體水平提升到了一個新的高度。與其他即時戰略游戲最大的區別在於它的操作方式，在以往的游戲中玩家可以隨意控制自己所有的作戰單位，但是在這個游戲中你必須命令你的英雄去完成任務。看上去似乎剝奪了玩家的自由性，提高了游戲難度，其實設計者的意圖恰恰是減輕玩家的負擔，玩家只需考慮戰略部署，具體的戰斗都交由超強的電腦人工智能去處理。因為操控方式變得簡單了，游戲性就增強了，當然一開始在操作方面可能不太適應，但你很快就會發現其中的妙處。
　　《王權：幻想王國》中只能扮演唯一的種族，兵種安排和力量平衡上得到了很好的處理，不會出現某一種族“東方不敗”的現象。玩家可能會納悶，為什麼游戲中的角色造型都那麼的熟悉？原因很簡單，因為游戲是按照標准的“龍與地下城”規則設計的，造型也就完全標准化了。其實這不是什麼壞事，玩家可以很快地了解到各種角色的特點，比如戰士、魔術師、游俠、浪人、盜賊、精靈、侏儒等等。當然設計者沒有忘記添加幾種新的角色，包括女祭司、信徒、叛逆戰士、野蠻人等，如此一來，游戲的角色之豐富毫不遜色於傳統的RPG。有一點要提醒大家，你的英雄是不能帶入下一個任務的，所以當任務完成後，為你浴血奮戰的英雄也完成了其歷史使命。這個不起眼的特色，甚至可能引發玩家的不滿，但確實是《王權：幻想王國》成為一個經典之作所必不可少的一種設計。

　　玩家將會在游戲中獲得更多的操作選擇、更多的建築物、更多的兵種、和更多有趣的任務。由於具體的戰爭操作都省略了，王國的建築物就成為你必須著重研究的項目，實際上選擇什麼樣的建築物，將會決定的王國今後的走向。這次增加的建築有大使館——這個建築有幾種用途，首先它可以幫助你廣泛網羅國外人才，其次它可以使你對其他國家的情況一目了然；尚武堂——這個地方記錄著你麾下角色們的戰績，也就是殺敵名單，你也可以從這裡篩選出需要獎勵的人；魔法市場——這個大概不需要解釋了，就是買賣魔法的地方（魔法又增加了一些新的品種，例如效能更高的恢復藥品、隱形藥劑、變形藥劑、甚至還有增強士兵作戰能力的興奮劑）；陵墓——讓你埋葬勇士，使他們的靈魂得以安息，或者讓他們重返人間的地方（要花錢）。這地方可要好好保護，不然那些冤魂孽鬼會出來找你索命；前哨站 ——讓角色們往來歇腳的地方，或者在你的皇宮被摧毀時，借以東山再起的地方……擴充的好東東太多了，難以一一列舉。
This Special Edition of Majesty contains both, the main program as well as the Northern Expansion Pack in one box.
Majesty is a fantasy real-time strategy game. At first, it may look like another Age of Empires clone with its different buildings and units but the game plays completely different. You don't have the chance to control your units directly. They have their own wills and do whatever they want to do. The player can indirectly control them by setting gathering points to various spots on the map. Units then try to reach these points and will automatically choose the right action to do at this spot once they're there, e.g. fighting monsters, harvest food or mine resources.
Both the main game and the expansion feature interesting campaigns with typical fantasy plots told in many linked missions...
