游戲承襲前作的基本構成，除了傳統的角色扮演與戰斗部分之外，並可透過選擇伴侶共結連理來繁衍後代的「靈魂續生」系統，讓光明勢力得以世代交替生生不息。戰斗系統部分同樣承襲前作的「延伸回合戰斗」系統，讓玩家在戰略模擬風格的方格地圖上指揮我方小隊與黑暗勢力的敵人戰斗，還可以連合多個單位施展聯手攻擊。游戲中並加入了新的「自由行動」與「好感度」系統，讓玩家在任務與任務間可以自由探索城鎮，與隊伍中的伙伴以及形形色色可以成為人生伴侶的女主角們互動，培養感情提升好感度，體驗各式各樣的事件。
