　　在關原之戰二百年後，19世紀的日本再次陷入動亂，引進西洋兵器軍制的尊皇派與代表守舊武士傳統的江戶幕府劍拔弩張，大戰一觸即發。

　　西洋列強三國英法美將在游戲中出場，堅船利炮轟開國門，激起了一場改變日本國運的血腥內戰。玩家將從6個重要強藩中選擇一家，為幕府或天皇而戰。

　　在“武侍的隕落”中引入了鐵路運輸網，鐵甲艦和新式籠城模式（包括可升級的炮塔，允許自定功能）外加革命性的海陸協同作戰，陸軍可以呼叫沿海艦隊炮擊，同樣岸防炮也能夠對海上戰艦造成重創。

　　玩家甚至可以在戰略界面直接呼叫艦炮轟擊，在大地圖上對沿海的敵軍部隊和城市進行直接炮轟 -- 諸位，是時候革新戰略了。

　　三種新從事官閃亮登場：外籍教官，維新志士和新選組，聯機模式也進行了重大革新，多人游戲2.0時代即將到來。新征戰地圖和全新的“武侍的隕落”近代化身，和40+新隨從；30+新甲胄；19世紀近代化身技能樹。
