《奇點》由Raven Software負責開發，Activision代理發行。玩家所扮演的主人公Nate Renko是一位美國空軍飛行員，奉命前往一個神秘小島調查某些異常狀況，該島以前曾歸前蘇聯掌控。後來受到島內錯亂時空場的影響落入20世紀50年代，現在他所要做的就是展開冒險之旅，奮力逃出生天。
