“那時我正在場，”他一般會接著說下去，會在笑聲中將自己的話題接下去。“那天，荷魯斯殺死皇帝的時候，我在場。”
這本是一個很巧妙地構思出來的笑話，他的戰友們在意識到這笑話的本意之後都會被逗得大笑起來。
那是一個很不錯的故事。圖咖登經常會引誘他講這個故事，圖咖登是一個很愛開玩笑的人，一個很容易開懷大笑的人，一個喜歡用小伎倆作弄一下別人的那種人。然後，羅肯便會將這個故事再一次地講給人聽，這個被反復講述了許多遍，也被反復聽了許多遍的故事，幾乎一講出開頭，就可以被人背出結尾了。
羅肯每次都很認真地確定，自己的聽眾們能夠完全理解他故事中那一份諷刺。他似乎對自己參與在那件事當中抱有那麼一點點的慚愧。因為那是一次因為誤解而發生的戰斗，因為誤會而出現的犧牲。其中，在那一位皇帝之死的背後，本是一場悲劇，一場羅肯每次都想讓聽眾們領會的悲劇。只是，每次一講到塞金努斯之死的時候，他們的注意力便已經被牢牢地抓住了。
從那裡起，一直到故事的高潮。
在亞空間動力鐘的記錄下，那是大聖戰遠征的第二百零三個年頭了。羅肯每次都能很合適地選擇自己敘述的開頭的時間和地點。自從烏蘭諾大戰役結束之後，指揮官大人成為大司戰也有大約一年了，他一直努力地在新的位置上證明自己的能力——尤其是在自己的兄弟面前。
大司戰，好大的一個名頭。這個前所未有的位置，到現在給人的感覺還是很陌生，感覺很不自然，很沒有被人們適應。
對於這些在星系間繼續前進的人來說，那是一個微妙的時刻。他們繼續著自己已經進行了兩個世紀之久的事業，但是現在，一切的感覺卻是那麼的不一樣。這是一個新的開始，也是一個結束。

他們被謀殺了。他們來到那皇帝的寶座面前，就在那裡，被刺倒在皇宮的玉石地板上。塞金努斯和他的小隊——戴穆斯、馬爾珊達、哥爾松，以及所有的隊員一起，被那個皇帝所謂的精英衛隊“隱身者”悉數殺害了。
據說，是因為塞金努斯沒有做出正確的效忠禮儀，他的言行表示著，另有一位皇帝的存在。
指揮官的悲痛無人可以體會，他喜愛塞金努斯如同自己的兒子一般。他們曾並肩作戰，一起經歷了幾百場的戰役。但是指揮官在這種情況下一向是還抱有希望和理智的，他讓通訊員向那位皇帝再次地提出了一次談判的機會。他在有可能的時候，一向不喜歡采取戰爭的手段，而是尋求一個非暴力的解決途徑。他這樣說服自己，這只是一個失誤而已，一個十分嚴重的失誤。和平解決是可以達到的，這位“皇帝”是可以與我們互相理解的。
從這裡開始，羅肯強調，這位“皇帝”的稱呼開始打上了引號。

11 Fallen-Angels
