Grace Slick在頂替掉Signe Anderson加入Jefferson Airplane以後，Jefferson Airplane才開始大紅大紫，專輯單曲到處上榜，其實之前Grace Slick已經有相當的名氣了，領著這支叫做The Great Society的樂隊，和當時的The Grateful Dead ,Janis Joplin不相上下,雖然不是樂團主導，但是Jefferson Airplane的女主唱Grace Slick能寫能唱，慧黠、犀利而發人深省的歌詞，觸及藥物、左翼、反戰等六○年代的發燒議題，加上充滿爆發力的美好嗓音，讓她充滿個人魅力。《Surrealistic Pillow》專輯中的"White Rabbit"便是Grace Slick的代表創作之一，歌曲極短，其靈感來自十九世紀知名英國作家Lewis Carroll (1832-98)所書寫的兩本經典童書《愛麗絲夢遊仙境(Alice's Adventures in Wonderland)》和《愛麗絲鏡中奇緣(Through the Looking-Glass)》，在那個瀰漫花與大麻香味的六○年代，"White Rabbit"歌詞以大家耳熟能詳的童書情節，來對應吸食迷幻藥之後産生的幻覺經驗，搭配由緩漸急的編曲設計，彷彿一步步帶領聽眾走進奇妙的迷幻世界。
Grace Slick (born October 30, 1939) is an American singer and songwriter, who was one of the lead singers of the rock groups Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, Starship, and also as a solo artist, for nearly three decades, from the mid-1960s to the mid-1990s.
Slick is considered to be one of the most important musicians in bringing the 1960s psychedelic rock to mainstream appeal. She is known for her witty, influential, thought-provoking lyrics, and her powerful contralto voice.
