　　“英語詞匯學習叢書”由美國著名的教材教輔出版社townsend press出版，是美國大學生使用最為廣泛的擴大詞匯的教學輔導圖書之一。在美國，一個學生的前途在某種程度上取決於他的詞匯量的大小。對於我國廣大英語學習者來說，詞匯學習當然是英語學習的一個重要方面。
　　 本叢書共有6冊。每冊介紹240-300個在toefl、gre、sat等測試中經常出現的單詞。本叢書的特點是引導學生根據上下文的語境，包括例證、同義、異義、類比等關系來理解單詞，通過反復練習、多次使用來熟悉和記憶單詞，從而摒棄死記硬背的學習方法。書中對每個關鍵單詞提供的各類練習能讓學生反復使用該單詞達10次左右。此外，書中部分練習題的題型與toefl、gre、sat等美國常用入學考試的形式相似，對於我國有志於出國留學的學生熟悉題型也有一定的幫助。
　　 《英語詞匯飛躍》為本叢書的第六冊，書中提供的英語詞匯練習適用於我國高校英語專業高年級（tem8）學生的水平，也可以作gre培訓高級階段的輔助教材。
