《古蘭經》是伊斯蘭教唯一的根本經典。它是穆罕默德在23年的傳教過程中陸續宣布的“安拉啟示”的匯集。“古蘭”一詞系阿拉伯語Quran的音譯，意為“宣讀”、“誦讀”或“讀物”，復述真主的話語之意。中國舊譯為《古爾阿尼》、《可蘭經》、《古蘭真經》、《寶命真經》等。中世紀伊斯蘭經注學家根據經文的表述，說它有55種名稱，其中常以“克塔布”（書、讀本）、“啟示”、“迪克爾”（贊念）、“真理”、“光”、“智慧”等來稱呼。現存最古老的西元688年的《古蘭經》藏於埃及國家圖書館。

QuranReciter is a Quran MP3 Player designed for reciting a set of Quran MP3 files(more reciters will be supported soon).

QuranReciter is a freeware and should not be sold in any form. You can make copies of QuranReciter and distribute it as long as it is done free of charge. Instructions on creating QuranReciter CD is given here.

QuranReciter is made free so that maximum number of people can make use of it. Please support the development of QuranReciter by donating and registering it. All donations accepted are acknowledged with a registration code which can be entered here.

Word by word meanings are displayed on moving the mouse pointer over Arabic text for sura 1 and Amma Juz(Sura 78 to Sura 114). Word meanings are given only as a beginners' guide for learning Quran. You have to refer to Arabic dictionaries, Quran Thafsirs etc. for learning their exact meanings.

There are 2 modes in QuranReciter, Range mode and Verse mode.

In Range mode, the verses in the Range are recited continuously. On choosing a sura(Chapter), the complete sura will be selected as Range. Choose the Range using the sliders 'Range Begin' and 'Range End'. Range mode can be configured using Range mode settings(press Ctrl R for range mode settings).

In Verse mode, after reciting each verse, recitation stops. You advance to the next verse using the letter "c" in the keyboard. If you want to recite the same verse again use the letter "x" and for reciting the previous verse use the letter "z". In this mode after reaching the end of range, recitation starts again from the beginning of the range.
