PowerSHAPE 是一套復雜形體造型設計系統，智能化光標新技術，操作簡便，易學易用。PowerSHAPE 使用 DelCAM 完全造型專利技術，將實體、曲面和三角面片造型建模技術相結合，充分發揮三種造型建模技術的優勢。系統提供專業化塑料模具設計模塊和自動電極設計模塊。PowerSHAPE 廣泛用於具有復雜形體的產品、零件和模具的設計。
新版的 PowerSHAPE v8.0 除用戶界面的變化外，還新增了眾多的新功能。下面是新版 PowerSHAPE 8 的部分新增功能簡介。
PowerSHAPE 界面做了如下改動：
選項信息中增加了快速選取所有網格命令。在編輯菜單的選取選項中，同樣增加了快速選取網格命令。
在查看工具欄中，網格顯示替換了原來的顯示三角形或三角形模型的邊緣。包括以下選項：
僅開放邊
開放和內部邊、陰影
開放和內部邊，陰影
節點和開放邊，陰影
開放和內部邊，空殼
節點和開放邊，空殼
使用比較分析來尋找曲面和三角形之間的不同。這個選項在模型分析工具欄中，或從工具下拉菜單 模型分析中選取。
查看選項中模板選項替代了原來的公告牌選項。
線框造型有以下功能改進：
1. 在點編輯器展開時，可以編輯不同的點。
2. 在線編輯器展開時，可以編輯不同的線。
3. 在圓弧編輯器展開時，可以編輯不同的圓弧。
曲面造型中有以下功能改進：
1.增加“轉換到網格“選項（該選項同樣可在編輯下拉菜單的轉換選項中選取）。
2.在“自動曲面“對話框中，增加了兩個曲面的產生方式。要從一個三角形產生曲面，選擇“自三角形”或“三角形上網絡”。
3.在自動曲面的高級選項----邊緣匹配中，增加了“重新分布點”功能。
4.在驅動曲線曲面選項中，增加了邊緣匹配的下拉菜單。
5.通過選擇已裁剪曲面的邊緣,產生一個未裁剪曲面。拖拽邊緣使曲面更大。這對相切曲面和模具補面尤其有用。
6.工藝補充面產生對話框內，繪圖按鈕已更新(僅 Toolmaker 模塊提供)。
實體造型中有如下功能改進：
1、在實體 驅動曲線選項中，增加了邊緣匹配的下拉菜單。
2、在摹仿變形對話框中，柔性框頁面增加了兩個附加按鈕 － 位置和縮放
3、當實體偏置時，實體特征樹中的包裹特征被保護。
4、實體操作中增加了轉換到網格命令。這一功能同樣可在編輯 轉換 選項到網格中選取。(僅 PowerSHAPE Pro 提供此功能)
三角形造型
PowerSHAPE 中提供以下三角形造型選項：
1、PowerSHAPE 8.0 包括新的網格功能。網格由具有共同邊緣的一組三角形（三維尺寸）所構成，各自的三角形可以被操作和編輯。
2、在模型中通過使用快速選取所有網格來選中所有網格。在編輯 選取的菜單中，通過選取過濾器和手工選取選項，同樣可選中網格。
3、在查看 網格顯示中，查看陰影網格。
4、在曲線工具欄中，使用產生截面曲線來產生一個截面網格。這個選項也可在曲線的彈出菜單截面曲線中選取。
5、在曲線工具欄中，使用拔模選項，產生一條拔模曲線。
