Green Operating System


gOS 是一款另類的操作系統，開發理念是要為公眾創造一個簡單、易於使用且美麗的桌面環境。沃爾瑪百貨出售的 gPC 的中預裝系統便是 gOS。

gOS 采用的是修改版的 Ubuntu Linux 7.10 操作系統，由於 Ubuntu 良好的兼容特性，所以 gOS 可以良好地支持各種 Web 2.0 程序。

gOS 預裝了包括 Google 公司的電子郵件 gMail 及一系列在線辦公軟件等等。產品預置類似 Mac OS X 的停靠欄，內置多種 Web 應用，有 Google Docs，Google Maps， YouTube，Meebo，Facebook，Wikipedia 等。

gOS Live 可以直接在光碟上運行，也可以將其安裝到計算機上。

Our dedicated team and passionate community of volunteers are commited to bringing our alternative OS to the masses... so people everywhere can enjoy a third, more affordable and attractive choice when shopping for a computer. To get ahead of ourselves, we're saying goodbye to closed software and the digital divide.
