IO Interactive正在開發《殺手》系列最新作，他們已經明確表示即將在Nordic Game Conference上公布《殺手5》。
IO Interactive已經確認在新作《殺手5：赦免》中將使用全新的“冰川2”引擎，取代過去的“冰川”引擎。
IO Interactive的技術設計師Daniel Ben-Noon在接受采訪時表示，更換引擎並不是因為舊有的引擎過時了，《凱恩與林奇2》出色的畫面就足以證明冰川引擎還有很大的潛力可以挖掘，但他們認為全新的引擎可以更好的表現游戲，但給玩家全新的視覺體驗。
Ben-Noon還在采訪中保證，他們會用新的引擎做出系列中最好的作品。

Hitman: Absolution follows the Original Assassin undertaking his most
