《變形金剛：塞伯坦的隕落》由High Moon Studios開發，是《變形金剛：塞伯坦之戰》的續作，也是《變形金剛》游戲系列以來評價最高的一款游戲。《變形金剛：塞伯坦的隕落》將引入恐龍勇士的領袖“鋼鎖”，帶領玩家進入塞伯坦星球的末日，博派汽車人(Autobots)和狂派(Decpticons)之間戰爭再次燃起，還包括兩方從賽博坦的遷徙，玩家將體會這個外星球當時最為黑暗的時刻，該作將包含卡通版的方舟太空大戰。

雖然《變形金剛：賽博坦之戰》的AI系統並沒有遇到什麼大問題，但開發商High Moon依然覺得他們應該回爐，重新想過《變形金剛：賽博坦的隕落》這部續作的敵方設計。High Moon認為，一個游戲的AI設定，很大程度上會影響到該作品的敵對勢力的基本要求。

在游戲中的任何一個時間，玩家都會分心多用，可能一邊解讀著敵人的動作，以求推測出它下一招的方向；一邊切換著（胸器）武器，意圖以最佳的方案來減低自己的傷亡，同時又給予對手最大的傷害；填充彈藥、搜尋掩護物、四周是否還有其他危險諸如此類。這一切一切，可能都只是彈指之間的事情。

一個好的電腦AI，同樣也要做到以上的要求，要懂得變通，能夠在適當的時候作出適當的反應。但《變形金剛》裡面的玩家卻懂得變形，玩家可以在電腦AI想出下一步對策之前，便已經飛出半公裡的地帶。所以《變形金剛》系列的AI系統一定要特別快，《變形金剛：賽博坦的隕落》開發組代表Matt Tieger說道：“有時候為了一個簡單的AI應對，編程人員在幕後要翻天覆地才能修補漏洞。”

High Moon不單只為了《變形金剛：賽博坦的隕落》重新編輯AI系統，更因為AI的修訂，他們也在兩方的敵人上花了不少心思。
