全新的 Adobe CS5 加入了最新的高清視頻渲染引擎Mercury。Mercury可以利用顯卡的圖形處理能力加速對高清格式視頻的編解碼和播放，當然不是所有的顯卡，由於和 NVIDIA 之前達成的協議，Mercury 只支持NVIDIA的顯卡。
　　而 Adobe CS5 的 Flash Catalyst 則是為了挑戰微軟的 Expression Studio，這款新的軟件將作為Flash的另一個選擇，是專門為設計師和美工量身定做。
Photoshop：
全新的類似Corel Painter的自然筆刷系統(比Painter更優秀的功能是傾斜時甚至可以模擬到筆刷毛的變化)、范圍顏色選取工具、精細到毛發的新的選擇工具(這也 是CS4中抽出工具不見了的原因)、骨骼工具(可根據二維的人的光影自動分析其三維結構並且改變其動作)，無真相的智能修復工具 (此功能視頻已被視頻廣為流傳，只要簡單的選擇就可以消去選擇的對象並且看不到痕跡)，增強智能縮放工具(CS4縮放工具的增強版，甚至可以改變整幅圖的 透視)
Aftereffects、Premiere：
64bit，支持CODE技術(GPU渲染時代來臨、被認為是CS5中最具革命性的改進，可以極大的改進性能，並在普通顯卡上流暢渲染特效、3D與 剪輯，旋轉縮放，據說演示時驚呆了當時在場的所有人)。
Flash Pro：
這次主要是面對開發者改進，包括輸出Iphone應用(未來Flash Builder也會支持，程序會直接通過LLVM重新編譯而不需要直接通過虛擬機，解決了很多效率問題)、物理引擎(可以模擬物理特性，並且自動生成動 畫，非常GJ)、創建Flash Builder工程 (Flash Builder相反)，Text Layout Framework整合代碼編輯器增強、Deco-brush。
Dreamweaver：
支持Flash，Illustrator的動畫與矢量圖智能黏貼轉換成Html5 Canvas並在支持Html5浏覽器中渲染(非常妙的一著，讓很多人覺得不能理解的功能，HTML5的最大敵人Adobe竟然最先支持HTML5的編 輯。不過，細想之下也發覺ADOBE的深層思路，“即使是HTML5，錢也是我Adobe賺”，不像以前的Html可以用普通的代碼編輯器代 替，Html5的富媒體特性對可視化圖形IDE要求更高，而創建圖形元素的所有軟件都掌握在Adobe自己手中。某種程度來說，筆者覺得Adobe甚至可 以間接控制Html5的普及速度，同時，如何讓Flash與HTML5結合，看來 Adobe已經有一套完整的方案了，也許，以後我們可以直接將網頁上的圖形直接拖到Flash做的圖形編輯器上編輯)
